another US catty case

like my card yesterday, this one also uses the new in-colours. And it is a CASE from the fall/winter US catty. The stamp set is Big Bold Birthday.

new in-colours

Yummy Yummy!

I got my sneak peek order yesterday - and the in-colours are going to need a bit of time to grow on me!

I had a play today, and I have to say the more I played the more I liked!

I haven't got my pre-order stamp sets yet (forgot to add them to my order! Doh!) but they are on their way now - but in the meantime, here is a CASE from the fall-winter US catalogue - not the one out now.

This uses Eastern Blooms (I so hope this makes it to the catalogue!!) and the new card and inks - base is kiwi kiss, and the strip is riding hood red. The inks are riding hood red, kiwi kiss and baha breeze.

Not a good pic! Now, I actually think they look really nice in real life!

Colour challenge mark 2

My FM had a go at the colour challenge too - here is her version. This uses Sassy Stems which is retiring in two weeks time. (I think I might have found a new home for mine!!)

kwerner colour challenge

OK, so I have been really slack this week! But hey, I have read a HEAP of amazing books!! It's tough choosing between my two hobbies -reading and stamping - sometimes it all comes down to which one takes less time to clear a space for!! lol

Anyway - here is my card for Kristina's 45th colour challenge. Tricky this week - seems like it would be simle, but it really was hard not reaching for a colour to spice it up.

This uses lovely as a tree - and the split negative technique. I am sorely lacking in stamps that can be used with this technique! This was the only option I had!

So, anyway, here it is.

another kwerner challenge

These things are addictive! Seriously!

Kristina's choice of colours this week are some of my favourites - but I still struggled to find the ink! I must start getting more ink pads!!

Anyway - I used the mojo monday sketch as well, so two challenges in one!

It's pretty self explanatory, so hope you like it :)

Becky's valentine's box

This is a tutorial I bought from the amazing Becky at Inking Idaho. Those two empty sections held chocolate - but that didn't last long!

Inside there are 4 tags using the Top Note pattern (I SOOOO wish we had the real thing - it takes AGEs to cut them out!!) with the truck from "loads of love" paper pieced on to it.

There is also an acetate box with chocolate kisses in.

This uses the retiring Ginger Blossom paper from the Summer Mini - so cute!

Makeesha's treasure box

This is a project from Makeesha - an amazingly talented Aussie demo - from the last round of UStamp. (don't know what UStamp is? Check the link on the side bar of my blog) Anyway, Keesh decorated hers with stamps and glitter, but the lady I have in mind for this is not a "bling" person. She says "why do I need all that gumph on it?" So I left all the "gumph" off! (anyone know what gumph is exactly???) (not that Makeesha's looks like gumph - it's stunning, but each to their own I figure!)

Here it is open ('scuse my fingers!)

I got her hooked!!

OK, that title sounds very dodgy!

But I got my FM hooked on stamping!

I cam home from work today to find this little beauty sitting on my desk! She was watchign when I did Kristina's colour challenge, and decided to do her own! (actually I told her to feel free last night but she wasn't into it!) So, imagine my surprise :)
Not bad for a forst attempt eh??

fantasy/stepper box

Ok, I have no clue what these are called - so I used both names I have seen. I got the idea from my upline Sharlene AGES ago, but the tutorial came from here. (not coz Sharlene wouldn't share! I didn't ask!! The paper used is Berry Bliss, which is retiring soon - but I'm bummed coz I used the papers the wrong way round! I was meant to put the pomegranate flower one on the outside, instead it is plain brown! boring ;) So I didn't take a picture of that bit!! Jordan has totally nicked this one - last seen somewhere on her dresser with "girly stuff" (read: junk) in it :)

kwerner colour challenge

Woah nellie! 3 posts in one night, after a week away!

This blog was always my motivation for myself - even if no one reads it (though obviously I hope they do!) it meant I had to actually create something - otherwise I would just do stuff for other people (like workshops) and nothing for myself. So that's why there wasn't much stuff! But, hopefully I am now over that!! lol

Anyway.. (man, I blabber don't i??) here is my attempt at this week's colour challenge - LOVE these colours. Found it hard to not have a neutral but I cheated a bit - the inspiration pic actually shows a creamy coloured blanket, so I did stamp on white! sorry :( - not really!

This is the Easter Blooms stamp set - love that too! Hate my scanner though! It squishes everything! The flowers are popped up, and the ribbon is nice and "boof-Y" (yes it's a word!!) in real life, but the scanner doesn't get it! Oh well! Imagination is the key! :) Oh, and it says Best Wishes at the bottom - but that is probably my fault that it is so dark, coz I don't have that ink, so I used versmark. :)

card gift box

This is another UStamp project - from the very first one actually! but it has taken me until now to finish it!

The box uses a 12 x 12 sheet of chocolate chip, and then the card bases are also choclate chip. Each card uses a different in-colour, and the stamp set is say it with scallops. Love it! (actually, I have to be honest - I have only inked up 2 of the four stamps in the set, but those two make up for the other two!)

Here is one of the cards up close - oh the background is boho backgrounds :)

sorry it's blurry but I had a helper! This is one of the sproglings that comes with my FM :) She is 3, and LOVES my punches!! Not that she used them on this card! This is her birthday card for her mum! (that's water by the way! Just in case you weren't sure!)

long time - no post!

In my defence, I was getting ready for a workshop, and got totally carried away!! I will schedule posts for the next few days to show you what I got up to when I was MEANT to be cutting cardstock!! :)

Everyone else is talking about the retiring list - so just in case you have missed it, go here and check it out! It's HUGE!! I am pretty lucky - only losing 5 sets (not including my summer mini ones) but I don't really own that many to start with, so there you go!

Anyway, enough about that! Here is the first project I got sidetracked with.

I forgot the third birthday in a row (yes, I know - only February and still not on to it!!) so I decided to use up my retiring (oh no that word again!!) In-Colours. This was made from a tutorial by Beate on Splitcoast. I used the spiral punch from Stampin' Up! and then used a wire coil to bind it. Took AGES doing two holes at a time, but what can you do?? lol
