good intentions.......

Well, I was full of good intentions, and I did only miss one day! And in my defence, I was moving house - on my own! :)
Have moved out of my home, and am staying with my parents temporarily until I can find somewhere to live - So obviously I brought only the essentials - stamps, ink, paper, undies, deodorant, more stamps, catalogues, ..... priorities ladies!! :) you should have seen my dad's face!! their house now resembles a stamp sweat shop!! But hey - i have blog projects to finish, and workshops to prep for! very important!! :) who needs clean clothes??? ;)

Check back tomorrow for my first gift suggestions using Stampin' Up! product :) I am so excited to be sharing these projects with you!

November Blog Challenge

Seems I read somewhere that November is blog posting month or something like that! And you need to post to your blog every day. So here’s my challenge to myself to do just that!

Check in from time to time and see how I’m doing!

the cat's out of the bag!

Ok... actually the cat is IN the bag!! Why do cats do this kind of thing??? This particular cat is a NUT! Her name is Hunter, and this is where Jordan found her when she came downstairs this morning. You can see how high off the ground it is - the bag is hanging off the door knob! Best we can figure, she jumped on the dehumidifier, and then into the bag. Why??? who knows!!
Anyway, I thought it was worth a giggle! Hope you agree!

On a totally different note - it is August 1st and THAT means ............ the Spring Mini!! woohoo!! There are some extremely yummy things in there. I did actually place a pre order, but have been house sitting away from my place, so no play time :(
today's the day though!! fun fun!

baby arrived :)

well, I have no project, but just wanted to say that the baby I was talking about a few posts ago arrived. Her name is Ava Rose, and she is a gorgeous wee dot! She only weighed 5 pound something!
So a big congratulations Nick and Michelle. The card is in the mail - along with the CUTEST dresses I got :) Not practical but who cares!

completely not stamp related!

ok, so I joined the Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers 27 - and they are a very cool bunch of ladies - check their blogs out on my sidebar! I would love to visit them more often buit blogger and my computer are having a bit of a falling out at the moment! Looks like a truce tonight, so will see how I get on checking them out! ANYWAY>>> there is a point!

One of the ladies has a son, whose school was involved in the Flat Stanley project. Read this book - seriously! it's fabulous! So, we hosted Stanley, and took him all over the north island of New Zealand. And I promised to post a few pics on here - so finally (a few weeks late) here is Flat Stanley in New Zealand :)This is an old plane, fitted out to become a cafe - you can eat your lunch in it! The kids LOVE it!!
This is Ohakune - they are famous for their carrots, and apparently Stanley's favourite food is carrots, so how could we NOT go here!!
Finally, (at leaat for now - Stanley had lots more adventures than this!) Here is Stanley bungee jumping! New Zealand is the home of bungy jumping, so he could hardly visit without taking the plunge! Unfortunately, he was a bit light for the real thing. so we rigged him up from my second storey balcony!

new header :)

ok.... so I haven't got much stamping done, but I have been playing with my stash! (that isn't as dodgy as it sounds!!)

I decided my header was really boring - well non-existent actually, and I wanted something that would reflect the name of my blog a bit :) So I rummaged through the drawers of the one year old living here, and pulled out his teeny tiny denim jeans, and thought AHA!! Then, finally, after lots of giggling, and moving stuff around, my new header was born!
FM helped me, and at one point we were going to use my jeans, with me in them, with stuff stuck in the pockets and through the belt loops. Thank your lucky stars THAT one didn't eventuate ;) We did one photo of it, but my bum with full pockets is NOT a pretty sight! She refuses to delete it though..... keeps muttering something about potential payback in the future ;) lol

Anyway, hope you like my header!

response to storage comment ;)

Thanks Shelley for your lovely comment, and your encouraging suggestion that I make you one too. (encouraging because you are presuming the thing didn't fall down ten minutes after I took the photo! - it didn't but it's early days yet! lol)

However, if I were to make you one, by the time I shipped it to Dunedin it would be cheaper to get you the SU! one anyway!! (and no that was NOT an offer!!) lol

others who liked the unit, check out Stacey's blog - she has a downloadable pdf of the pattern and instructions. (You didn't really think I worked it out for myself do you??? WOW!! you really do think highly of me!! poor deluded people lol)

Merry Christmas

Well, my technological problems never did get sorted, so here's hoping Santa brings me a new digital camera - or at least a new battery charger for the old one! Ont he plus side, that means I have a HEAP of projects ready to go in the new year, so I will spend the holiday trying to get it all sorted!!
In the mean time, I wish you and yours a very merry Christmas, and a fantastic start to 2009!

grrrr... technology!

ok.. so i didn;t make t back with the reindeer punch card - my camera is just NOT my friend at the moment. I have lost my charger, and other batteries just aren't working! I have a camera I can borrow from tomorrow, so this is just me checking in - coz the NZSUblog makes you feel guilty if you leave it too long without a post!!

woah.. time flies!

Well, my kit arrived, and I dived straight in.. and now I need to place another order!! Coz I've used all my paper, and I've realised I really *must* have this .. and that....ooh and one of those too.. and seeing as I'm getting that, I might as well get one of those because it matches!

I have a couple of bookings for workshops and I am soooooo nervous!! As I've said before, I'm not creative, and these ladies are so crafty, and have been stamping for years - they should probably be demo'ing to me! But my upline (Hi Sharlene!!) told me to keep it simple, so that's the plan!! :) I tend to overanalyse things!!!

But in the meantime, I have been cruising around Splitcoaststampers (what do you mean what's that??? Where have you been??? Go immediately and check it out!! don't forget to come back tho!!) and have ahd my fingers crossed for weeks that some of the stamps in the mini catalgue in the US will be in ours, and it arrived today, and I am glad!! Can't tell ya much (or anything in fact!!) but I am a very happy chicky!! (My bank account might not be so pleased!)

So.. no pics today, but just a check in and a drive on!

SU! Demo

OK. So I did it - I signed up with SU! And I am so excited, and can't wait to get started. Why? (well I know you know why - coz the products are so fantastic and amazing and beautiful etc etc!!) but no, there is another reason! I am NOT at all creative. You will be hard pushed to find an original card made by me that I haven't CASE'd from someone somewhere. But that is the beauty of SU! You don't have to rely on your own creativity, because it is all done for you! The catalogue has lots of ideas, the website has more, the Demo part of the wesbite has idea sheets and then of course there is the incomparable SCS - with resources like these, my workshops will last for years without a double up!! On top of that, because the stamps come in sets, they easy to create with :) I also think (hope!) that this will be a major selling point for me with my customers - If I can do it, so can you!!
So now I just have to wait for my kit (Please Mr Postman - hurry up!!!)
